CLRS by SAAT is a platform for transformative design objects and artisan craft.
Rooted in the belief that beauty and responsibility can go hand in hand, CLRS celebrates color, structure and storytelling. Every project is crafted in small batches using traditional handcraft techniques. By working directly with local artisans, we ensure fair working conditions and contribute to long-term empowerment through skill development and employment.
The Initial Project
The inaugural collection presents handwoven bags crafted from recycled plastic wire in a small village in South India. Each bag is created with care by a local women’s collective. The designs draw inspiration from vivid saris, painted house walls and the sun-drenched landscapes of the region.
Inside, each bag tells its own story.
The removable inner pouch is fashioned from leftover fabrics of past SAAT uniform productions, transforming every detail into a symbol of thoughtful design.

In celebration of its anniversary, SAATMUNICH launches CLRS by SAAT.
A thoughtful expansion of its design ethos, devoted to craftsmanship in all its evolving forms. In an age where traditional handcrafts are quietly disappearing, CLRS by SAAT reclaims their significance. Not as relics of the past, but as living knowledge that carries cultural memory, meaning and care.
It is a platform for evolving projects, shaped by curiosity and responsibility. Open to transformation, rooted in respect for material, process and people. A space where design and making meet consciously, adaptively and with intention.

Since 2015, SAATMUNICH, the design studio founded by Sajna Weber and Thorsten Bulander, has embodied value-driven creativity and visionary design concepts.
